Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a RevenueAccountant to become an essential member of our accounting team. The Revenue Recognition Department is a vital component of Applied's Finance team. The department is responsible for all day-to-day activities in the revenue process including contract review for compliance with Applied’s revenue recognition policy, monthly revenue close, account reconciliations, reporting and analysis, and audit support.  The department actively participates in the quote-to-cash process, partnering with the Sales, Contracts Administration, and Billing teams.    What You’ll Do    - Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP - Work with cross-functional business partners to facilitate the review and execution of revenue - Ensure timely execution of month-end and quarter-end close activities - Responsible for preparing selling price analysis of the various deliverables in our multiple element arrangements - Perform ad hoc accounting research to assess accounting impact related to sale transactions - Ensure compliance with all applicable finance policies, rules, regulations, and laws - Perform relevant controls in the Company's revenue recognition process to ensure that we have adequate controls in place to mitigate all significant reporting risks. - Prepare audit schedules, provide analysis, and work with external auditors as needed - Assist with projects as needed together with FP&A, IT, and other parts of the organization - Calculate, reconcile, and review deferred revenue monthly and prepare required journal entries monthly - Provide revenue and deferred revenue inputs to the forecasting process - Calculation of revenue recognition and drive decisions on revenue recognition accounting - Prepare assigned account reconciliations and audit schedules - Perform contract revenue analysis and advise on the resulting revenue accounting treatment - Work with internal customers to resolve related revenue and contract-related inquiries - Prepare ad-hoc analysis as required - Pursues a program of self-development through the use of selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education. - Identifies and communicates possible improvements in the work process for customers and peers. - Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.   What You’ll Need to Succeed    We’re looking for someone who:  - Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office.
