Position Overview 

 

Applied Systems powers the digital roundtrip of insurance, connecting each stage of the client insurance journey and plan lifecycle. We are seeking a visionary Director, Product Management (Data Platforms) to lead our Data Platform organization. This strategic leadership position will oversee the entire ecosystem of our data offerings, including customer-facing analytics and internal data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will drive innovation across our data platform strategy while ensuring our solutions deliver exceptional value to both customers and internal stakeholders.

 

  • The position is remote, but ideally we are seeking a candidate based in the greater Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI, or Dallas, TX metro areas.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Provide product leadership for our comprehensive data platform strategy, including dashboards, data lake architecture, embedded insights, and analytics offerings
  • Drive the vision, roadmap, and execution of data products that serve both customer and internal needs
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers
  • Establish governance frameworks and data quality standards across the organization
  • Oversee the development of scalable data infrastructure that supports growing volumes and varieties of data
  • Drive innovation in how data is collected, processed, analyzed, and presented throughout the organization
  • Establish KPIs and success metrics for all data platform initiatives
  • Collaborate with customer success and sales teams to ensure data offerings meet market demands
  • Drive strategic partnerships and integrations to enhance data capabilities 

 

We’re Excited to Learn More About You 

 

Your experience may include: 

  • 10+ years of experience in data platform leadership, with at least 5 years in senior management
  • Proven track record of building and scaling data platforms that serve both internal and external customers
  • Deep technical understanding of modern data architectures, including data lakes, warehouses, and analytics platforms
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing executive stakeholders
  • History of successful product launches and innovations in the data/analytics space

You may have other skills or credentials, including: 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
    • A master’s degree is a plus
