Job Overview

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Payment Operations Analyst to join our Payments Operations Team with Applied Pay. As a Payments Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and reconciling payments for Applied Pay, preparing insightful reports on payment processing metrics, overseeing customer support related to payments, and collaborating closely with internal teams to resolve payment-related inquiries. Detail-oriented candidate with a passion for problem solving with superior Excel skills. The ideal candidate will contribute to our team’s success by implementing standard operating procedures and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the reconciliation of incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform processor and bank reconciliation, ensuring accurate data is consumed by internal systems and provide regular status updates.
  • Analyze performance metrics and provide insights into business trends
  • Review current processes and collaborate with various stakeholders to introduce automation where necessary to reduce manual work in reconciliation management.
  • Customer Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for payment-related inquiries, both from clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring prompt resolution and excellent customer service.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the Payment Operations, Accounting, and Customer Support teams to address and resolve payment discrepancies and improve processes.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to streamline payment operations and ensure consistency.

What You’ll Need to Succeed


We’re looking for someone who:

  • Can work hybrid from our Toronto Applied Systems office

Your experience should include some or all the following:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in payments analysis, reconciliation, and reporting within a PayFac or similar financial services environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or related analytical disciplines.
