Job Overview

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Project Manager.  Working as a key member of a strategic account program team, the Project Manager will lead objectives and required outcomes of one or more aspects of the multi-year/multi-dimensional program.  Utilizing a methodical approach to planning and guiding project processes from start to finish, you will manage the execution of implementation oriented workstreams with a focus on IT and software development / deployment activities.   You will be relied upon to create and execute both internal and client communication strategies, driving overall customer relationships by pro-active involvement and ongoing contact.  

 

What You'll Do

  • Manage one or more workstreams that form part of the broader Implementation program
  • Establish and maintain the project schedule, project documents, and meeting notes using agreed collaboration tools
  • Provide integrated change control via an established change request process
  • Provide comprehensive and on-going risk and issue management
  • Work with the Program leadership team to determine cross-functional resource needs and availability required to successfully deliver in-scope projects
  • Perform appropriate and timely follow-up with both the customers and internal teams to ensure project activities are progressing as scheduled, conduct meetings when necessary.
  • Maintain timely and accurate time keeping records
  • Actively contribute and react to program lessons learned, including post-implementation-oriented surveys
  • Utilize generally accepted/recognized project management methodology, practices and tools
  • Assist management in mentoring new Project Managers to the organization, as requested
  • Attend conventions, summits or user group meetings as requested
  • Depending upon the projects assigned, manage implementation activations as required which may entail occasional weekend work

What You’ll Need to Succeed

We’re looking for someone who: 

  • Has the ability to work 100% remotely, as you will work from home when not travelling

Your experience should include some or all of the following: 

    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (in Business, Project Management, Insurance, or Organizational Behavior)
      We proudly support and encourage people with military experience, as well as military spouses, to apply
  • 5-10 years of experience in external client-facing roles
  • Software/SaaS implementation experience
  • Strong leadership skills; able to develop and motivate a project team
  • Outstanding customer relationship management skills
  • Proven experience with MS Teams and Smartsheet
  • Highly skilled in the art of negotiation
  • Highly organized; can handle multiple projects concurrently; demonstrated proficiency in Planning, Needs Assessment, and Project Management

Additionally, you may have: 

  • PMP or CAPM certification highly preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Previous Agency Management System Implementation experience
