Job Overview

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Sr. Data & Reporting Analyst to join our People Team and be responsible for transforming people data into reports and visuals that enable leaders to make informed, actionable decisions. This role will collaborate with internal and external partners to scope, build, and maintain systems integrations and play an integral role in ensuring people and employment data is accurate and secure.

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Consult with relevant stakeholders to understand, define, and document business requirements for reporting, dashboards, and other data visualization needs
  • Design, test, deploy, and maintain standard reports, dashboards, and scorecards
  • Monitor and analyze utilization of dashboards and reports; develop and execute plans to drive adoption, continuously improve relevancy to business, and decommission as appropriate
  • Conduct training and coaching of users on the features and functions of data visualization or reporting tools
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as necessary to answer business questions and drive decisions
  • Summarize trends and insights into written reports, presentations, and talking points
  • Design, test, deploy, and maintain Role-Based Permissions across systems, reports, dashboards, and scorecards
  • Create and implement protocols and procedures for auditing permissions and modifying data access at the Role- or User-level
  • Ensure data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data
  • Perform data cleansing to ensure the accuracy and quality of data input and output across systems
  • Create and implement data auditing protocols and procedures; conduct root cause analysis, recommend corrective actions, execute fixes, and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Analyze trends from data audits and cleansing to identify and recommend areas that require data, system, or process improvements
  • Work across the business to develop and deploy standard data structures and data models
  • Develop and execute data mapping and transformation processes and requirements within and between applications and data sources
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to document and define business requirements, recommend best fit solution, and design, test, and deploy data transfer or application integrations
  • Lead data transfer and integration projects between HRIS and other internal or 3rd party providers

What You’ll Need to Succeed 

 

We’re looking for someone who: 

  • Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office

Your experience should include some or all of the following: 

 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data analysis, informatics, reporting, and data visualization
  • Experience with UKG and Cognos BI
  • Proven ability to manipulate and analyze high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varied sources
  • Proficient in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.
  • Proficient in SQL; additional programming languages a plus
  • Proficient with data transfer and Application Programming Interface (API) tools and methods
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Sharepoint
  • Bachelor's degree in technology or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Additionally, you may have: 

  • Experience with iCIMS
  • Experience with data transformation tools such as Alteryx, RStudio, RapidMiner, etc.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence
